Tulsa Divorce Lawyers – Legal Fees

Three Tips For Saving Money On Legal Fees

Whenever you hire a Tulsa Divorce Lawyer for representation in the court room, keep in mind that lawyer time equals legal fees and legal fees cost money.  In some cases, legal fees cost a lot of money.

In order to avoid wasting lawyer time, and thus avoid wasting money on legal fees, we recommend that you read the three tips below.  Keep in mind, your case is entirely your personal business (as opposed to your case being our personal business).  If you choose not to follow the three tips below, that is entirely your decision, but be forewarned that legal fees in Tulsa County Divorce Court can cost as high as $10,000.00.  We hate to see you (or anyone else for that matter) waste money on unnecessary legal fees.  With that being said, the three tips are as follows:

Tip Number One:  Phone Calls.  Each time you call your lawyer you will be billed for it.  We recommend that if you absolutely feel that you must speak with your lawyer, that you keep the phone calls to a minimum of one phone call per two days.

Tip Number Two:  Gather Information.  Throughout the case your lawyer will request documents from you in order to prepare for the ensuing litigation.  Whenever you forward documents to your lawyer, do not just ‘throw together’ a bundle of documents and then ‘dump’ the bundle of documents onto your lawyers lap.  Instead, organize the documents so that the documents are easy to handle and easy to read.

Tip Number Three:  Communicate With Your Spouse.  This tip is especially true whenever you and your ex spouse have children.  If it is possible, make sure you and your ex spouse communicate directly with each other and thus avoid unnecessary communication through the lawyers.  Communication that occurs between the lawyers will cost both spouses a lot of money in unnecessary legal fees.
